LAGLOBAL is an international research network supported by the Leverhulme Trust. It consists of four working groups of scholars led by convenors based at the ILAS hub in London and at seven additional institutional nodes or partners.
LAGLOBAL network partners include: (1) the Centre of Amerindian, Latin American and Caribbean Studies at the University of St Andrews; (2) the Departamento de Historia de la Ciencia of the Instituto de Historia, CSIC, in Madrid; (3) the Centro de Estudios Históricos of El Colegio de México in Mexico City; (4) the Departamento de Antropología, Historia e Humanidades at the Facultad Latinoamericano de Ciencias Sociales (FLACSO) in Quito; (5) O Programa em História das Ciências e da Saúde at the Casa de Oswaldo Cruz (FIOCRUZ) in Rio de Janeiro; (6) the John Carter Brown Library at Brown University in Providence, and (7) the Institute of Historical Research at the University of Texas at Austin.
The four LAGLOBAL working groups are charged with investigating the history of four key areas of border-crossing knowledge practice. The four are: (1) History and Anthropology; (2) Collecting and Display; (3) Nature and Medicine; and (4) Theory and Critique.
